Salomon Resnik

Salomon Resnik was born in Argentina in 1920, the son of Jewish parents who emigrated from Odessa. He is a training analyst of the Psychoanalytical Society of Argentina, became a member of the International Psychoanalytical Association in 1956, after specializing in work with autistic children and young schizophrenic patients.

In London he worked with Melanie Klein, Winnicott, Bion, Hanna Segal and Esther Bick, and underwent analysis with Herbert Rosenfeld, from whom he gained a new insight into dream interpretation and the psychotic transference. For several years he was Senior Psychiatrist and psychoanalyst working mainly with psychotic and borderline patients at the Cassel Hospital in Richmond, Surrey (the director being Dr Main), and was also in private practice in London.

A former senior lecturer in psychiatry at the University of Lyon (France) and Visiting Professor at the medical school of the Catholic University of Rome, he is now a practising psychoanalyst in Paris and Venice, and was a consultant psychiatrist working with groups and institutional dynamics in Verona (Italy).
